Dorking West dirt jumps needs YOU
Over the years, the jump spot at Dorking West has gone from a bunch of abandonned allotments, to a big pile of dirt, to a slightly more sculpted pile of dirt, to, well, some even more artfully sculpted piles of dirt.
Quite a lot of this has been done by a few very dedicated individuals who have got stuff moving, talked to the council, raised tens of thousands of pounds of sponsorship money, sorted out planning permission and a hundred and one other tricky, fiddly things that we've never had to worry about over at Redlands Trails.
None of this has been easy, and it's also been pretty thankless for most of the people involved. However, a bunch of stuff has been done.
What is missing now is a bunch of people willing to put in a little bit of elbow grease each. If you can help, then get in touch with us, or with oli at Head for the Hills - mail him at oliAThead-for-the-hills.co.uk, or drop me a line at benATredlandstrails.org, substituting @ for AT.
Dorking West could be a really, really good jump spot. Various bods from cycling organisations have had a look over it and reckon it has potential as a race venue. But to get there - to be a really damn good jump spot - it also needs a load of people to pitch in and help with grooming the trails.
If you're willing to help out, send an email one of us.
